Mercury Block

Where Contemporary Design Meets Community Living.

Elevated Modern Living in the Heart of Edmonton

The Mercury Block is a 7-storey, mixed-use development located just off 124th Street in one of Edmonton's most sought-after neighborhoods. With 163 residential units ranging from junior 1-bedroom to 3-bedroom suites, the building offers a variety of housing options for individuals and families.

As the interior designer under my principal design lead, I was responsible for all aspects of design from start to finish, including creative design, material selection, suite layout planning, and 3D rendering. My role also included developing physical material boards, styling the show suite, and curating and installing furniture and artwork. The project, completed in December 2023, reflects a dynamic approach to modern living, with thoughtfully curated spaces that foster both community and comfort.

These photos highlight key design features, including my styling of the show suite and entrance lobby, as well as furniture selections.

Renders

These 3D renders, created using Revit and Enscape, bring the dynamic design of The Mercury Block to life, showcasing the modern layouts, materials, and vibrant community spaces.

Show Suite Styling

This show suite styling document features the furniture, decor, and accessories I curated to enhance the space’s aesthetics and functionality, reflecting the building’s modern lifestyle. I developed a design muse to support my design process, which the client embraced so fully that it became the foundation for their marketing plan. Since then, they've used the muse, "Taylor," as their design guide for future multi-unit residential projects.

Furniture

The communal space furniture and styling at The Mercury Block was designed to foster community and comfort. I selected modern, functional pieces that encourage both interaction and relaxation, with flexible seating and a warm, welcoming atmosphere. Neutral tones and carefully chosen decor complement the building’s design, creating inviting spaces for residents to socialize or unwind.

Art

The artwork package I created for The Mercury Block reflects the building and its residents. It's fun, interesting, unique, and speaks to the local community. Featured throughout the building are curated groupings of local artists and local photographers combined with images that spark intrigue.
